Effect of Low-Intensity Warfarin Anticoag on Level of Activity of Hemostatic System in Pts with Atrial Fib Stroke 24:1360-1365, Kistler,J.P.,et al, 1993 See this aricle in Pubmed Article Abstract We conclude that prothrombin activation was significantly suppressed in vivo by warfarin but not aspirin among patients in the Boston Area Anticoagulation Trial for Atrial Fibrillation(BAATAF).These findings correlate with the marked reduction in ischemic stroke noted among patients in the warfarin treatment group observed in the BAATAF.
